Cartoon Network, Williams Street, Carl Jones from Boondocks fame and Teddy Pinherass Down are producing a brand new 60-minute cartoon short based on the now defunct Freaknik festival. Freaknik The Musical is slated to debut on Adult Swim March 7, 2010 and might bring some controversy along for the ride.
Many of the artists on our list are popular, rich and extremely influential. Hit after hit, they put a lot of big names in their place with each rhyme the spit. They’re also the subject of ridicule and humor. Depending on your area code, you could take this type of music as entertainment, or as a sign of what’s wrong with music in general. In this feature, I will try to showcase some videos that will help define what sort of person you are. If you can just bob your head and enjoy Waka Flocka without feeling like you let an entire race of people down, then you are obviously in one class. If you just look at his name and move on to the next article, you might be in another. So try to see if you can make it through all of these videos and post your impressions. Where do I stand? I can see the humor in these videos and artists. I can appreciate where they’re coming from as artists, but if given the chance, I would prefer to see more thoughtful music placed in my ear box.
